Making peace

Erskine School students and staff form a peace sign last Friday during National Bullying Awareness Week activities at the school gym. They wore symbolic blue colours, said Devon McMann, the project co-ordinator of the HEaRT program.

“Former Canadian Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in helping to establish the United Nations peace-keeping force, whose colours are blue. We wear blue during the (national bullying awareness) week as a symbol of peace and to remind ourselves to be peace-keepers in our schools, homes and community.”
