Erskine recreation board in need of caretaker for rink

Canasta on Friday afternoons in Erskine

The Erskine Recreation Board is looking for someone to look after the skating rink this season. This is a paid position. The requirements are flooding the rink, cleaning off the snow, and opening and locking the shack. Please call Mark Higgins at 403-742-5191 if you are interested.

The Erskine IOOF in conjunction with the Erskine United Church fed over 240 people last Saturday evening with a wonderful roast beef supper. It was a great meal.

There will be a Remembrance Day Service at the Erskine School on Friday, November 10. Report cards go home on November 20th, Parent teacher interviews take place on November 23 from ECS to Grade 9 and there is no school on Friday, November 24 in lieu.

Don’t forget crib playing on Wednesday afternoons at the Erskine Seniors Center, playing board games on Thursday evenings, and playing canasta on Friday afternoons. Everyone is welcome to take part. There is also free coffee and cookies on Friday mornings and everyone is welcome to come down and have a coffee and a visit.

To book the Seniors Center for showers or birthday parties as well as the Waverly Club Rooms you can phone me at 403-742-0604 or 403-742-4561.

To book the IOOF hall, you can phone Cheryl Fisher.

The Erskine Post Office will be closed on Monday, November 13th in lieu of Remembrance Day falling on a Saturday. There will be no mail delivery that day. So all post offices will be closed.
