With the month of June into full force now and school coming to a close for another school year, please watch out for our children as summer events come into full force. The campgrounds are now open along with the ball diamond and other events are happening, for your use. Also the longest day of the year is soon approaching us (June 21th) the first day of summer.
This coming Sunday is Father’s Day. So let us all remember our Dads on Sunday, June 19, and do something special for their big day.
Also, with summer approaching us a lot of events will be shutting down until fall. The Old-Time Dance Club is now finished until September except for one dance during the Centennial weekend. The Quilting Club will not be meeting now until fall, so is the monthly meeting along with Military Whisk, they will start up again sometime in the fall, so keep an eye out for these dates.
The Botha United Church has changed their service times for July and August. The month of July there will be no services and for August they have changed their times to Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. However for the rest of June the services will continue to be held on Sundays at 9 a.m. except June 26 when there will be no service as Reverend Susan Bowyer will be away. So hopefully everyone can attend the last service until August, on Sunday, June 19 at 9 a.m.
The Bingo group will continue through the summer months. The next Bingo evening will be Tuesday, June 21 starting at 7:15 p.m. Bingo is every second Tuesday evening and held at the Botha Senior Centre, and everyone is welcome to come out and try out their luck. Who knows you could be the next big winner.
Don’t forget Wednesday mornings, take a break away from your busy schedules and join the Botha Coffee group at 10 a.m. at the Senior Centre. It’s a great meeting place to socialize with your neighbors and everyone is welcome out to have a fresh relaxing hot cup of coffee and a great time.
