Elementary students walked from coast to coast

The Walk Across Canada project was completed in just four weeks. Totalling up each students mileage and adding them together, students walked from Vancouver B.C. to St. John’s Newfoundland in four weeks. The students had pedometers to track their daily mileage.

Students in Grades 4-5 are busy with the many opportunities that having the longer recess breaks allow them. They have the chance to go to book club, spelling club, choir, intramurals, and computer club throughout the week.

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, it was take your child to work day at Bashaw school. Mrs. Teresa Anderson who teaches Grade 5 at SES had her Grade 9 son, Eric, join in her class activities.

Students will be participating in a Remembrance Day service at the elementary school on Tuesday, Nov. 10, and there will be no school on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in recognition of Remembrance Day. Many of the students are doing artwork and poems to commemorate the event.
