Don’t miss the drumming event on Thursday at noon at Erskine School

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers this Sunday. The IOOF is sponsoring their annual Mother’s Day pancake breakfast this Sunday from 9 a.m. till noon.

All proceeds go to the on going renovations of the IOOF Hall. So give mom a day off from cooking and start it out with taking her to the Mother’s Day breakfast.

Don’t forget that One Work Drum Company will be visiting Erskine School on May 6. Parents are invited to attend the performance at 1:45 p.m. The school also needs volunteers to help cook Nigerian Chin Chin and deep fryers are also needed.

Last week Erskine school students enjoyed watching the Millar College Drama Troop perform for them.

Marie Brown graciously donated a picture of Erskine school’s adopted Canadian flight crew who are stationed in Afghanistan. Erskine school also enjoyed eating homemade cookies made by Marie. Thanks Marie.

Grade 5 and 6 students held their first video conference with Liberty Sciences University in the United States. They learned how to extract DNA from strawberries. Our local video conference expert Mrs. Baltimore was able to set that up for the school.

PATs for grades 3, 6, and 9’s start May 11.

Internet safety specialist Ralph Servi will be hosting a session for all parents in the school’s library on Monday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m. After that session parent council will start at 7 pm.
