Thirty five people participated in the plus 55 crib tournament held at the seniors' centre last Thursday.

HALKIRK HERALD -- Thirty five people participated in the plus 55 crib tournament held at the seniors' centre last Thursday. They came from Castor, Stettler, Daysland, Camrose, Bashaw and Rimbey.

Anne Neilson and her team from Castor as well as Adolf Heier, Edna Luft, Wendy Ashbacher and Roose Koenraadt enjoyed the floor curling tournament at the Hub in Stettler last Wednesday.

Our junior high students participated in a badminton tournament in Wainwright last weekend.

Several of our local Elk members tended the bar at the Heisler Pork Chops supper on Saturday evening.

A bridal shower honoring bride elect, Megan Elsasser, will be held at 2 p.m. this Saturday, April 30 at the community hall. Everyone is welcome.

Congratulations to Jennifer Fetaz, who has been nominated for the Edwin Parr Award that honours first year teachers. Jenn is employed within the Red Deer Catholic Regional school district.

Deirdre Cordel and Velma Schofield attended the Spring Fat & Fuzzy AQHA show in Cochrane last week and gave their horses a work out.

Police have issued a reminder to folks to lock their vehicles, machinery, houses and out buildings as there has been a lot of theft in the local and surrounding area.
