Country Gems to play on May 28 at the Botha Old Tyme Dance

The theme for this dance is spring, so please wear spring colours if you can.

BOTHA BOOSTER — Talk about another wet week, hopefully this will stop for a while and get the gravel roads straightened out and the water laying around in the fields, so the farmers can get out and get their land ready for planting. It was even a wet week with snow for the poor farmers that have cattle calving at this time. It’s hard to believe a little over a month a year ago, the ground was really dry.

We would like to wish Neil Thorsteinson a very happy belated birthday as his birthday was last Monday, April 24, hope you had a great one Neil.

Talking about birthdays, Mr. Joshua Morris will be celebrating today, May 4, so happy birthday Joshua, here’s hoping you have a great one.

With May upon us now the Grade 12s will be preparing for their big day graduation. So hopefully the weather will be great for that big day.

Quilting Day will be on Monday, May 8, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Seniors’ Centre.

The last Sunday in May will be the second last dance until fall, so you will not want to miss out. The entertaining band that afternoon will be the “Country Gems” and they are a fantastic band, so please keep this date in mind. These dances start at 1:30 p.m. at the Botha Hall and everyone regardless of age can come and have some fun. The theme for this dance is spring, so please wear spring colours if you can.

The day to enjoy a game of cards and have a great time while doing so, is Monday, May 15, starting at 1 p.m. at the Seniors’ Centre.

Bingo evening is on Wednesday, May 10, starting at 7:15 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m. So grab your bingo dobbers and come out for one great evening of fun and entertainment. Who knows, you could be one of the lucky winners that evening.

Don’t forget to head to the Seniors’ Centre every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. for a great visit and enjoy a cup of two of fresh hot coffee. Then every Wednesday at 1 p.m. is carpet bowling. Come on out and join in the game with your friends.

Every Thursday at 1 p.m. is floor curling.

Don’t forget to grab your lunch at the Botha Arena Grill while you are in our small village. It serves good food and comes highly recommended at reasonable prices. So make sure you stop there and grab a bite.

If you are ever wondering when the Botha Transit Station is open the hours are as follows: every Tuesday from 1 to 5:30 p.m. and again every Saturday from 8 a.m. till noon to serve your business schedule. Hopefully these hours work out for everyone.

Mother’s Day is only a couple weeks away now on May 14, so hopefully everyone is planning something special to do with your mother that day, she deserves it.
