A devastating fire on Sunday destroyed the farm home of Shaun Derr. Luckily, Shaun was at work at the time of the fire and no one was injured. This was the former home of Gene and Darlene Derr for many years and Shaun’s home for the past five years.
Shaun has lost everything and the community is rallying to help. More information next week on how to extend your support.
Stettler fire crew was quick to respond as were Ray and Rene Blackmore and other neighbours in the area. Three out of four of Shaun’s family of cats have been safely located, to the relief of Shaun.
The Gadsby District Hobby Club monthly supper will be held this Saturday, April 17. On the menu pork chops, mashed potatoes, veggies, salad and their famous dessert smorg. Doors open 5 p.m. Cash bingo to follow at 7:30 p.m.
Haley and Cooper, Mareena and Piper and Amy enjoyed a family day at the Stettler swimming pool this weekend.
The Stettler District 4-H held a learning day at Westwoods on the weekend with a reported “good bunch” in attendance. This was for the entire Stettler region.
The Gadsby Omega Circle will be meeting at the home of Joanne Hoopfer, south of Gadsby, on Thursday night for their first meeting of the season. Ladies interested are encouraged to come.
