Byemoor Curling Club announces bonspiels

A church program is coming to Endiang the first and third Sunday of each month from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Endiang Community Hall. The Club DJ church club program is designed to draw children from the community to gain understanding on who God is.

Each evening will include Bible time, singing, crafts and snacks. All are welcome to attend, including adults and an adult program will also be coming soon.

Further to the local connections to the Stettler Business and Citizenship Awards announced last week, there was another local connection that wasn’t pre-announced but rather announced the night of the gala.

Fresh Wives Soap Company, owned by Shawna (nee: Wallace) Benson and Stephanie Plaetner received the Consumer’s Choice award. Shawna was raised at Endiang, the daughter of Lorne and Marlene Wallace. Congratulations, Shawna.

Some Endiang folks took in the Gary Fjellgaard show on Oct. 27 in Swalwell. The show was organized by B.J. Smith who used to live at Endiang. When B. J. lived here he brought in a number of performers to entertain at the Endiang Hall.

The Byemoor Hotel held its annual Halloween bash on Saturday, Oct. 27. Some folks got into the spirit of Halloween with costumes and all enjoyed the musical entertainment of Mark and Heather.

Velma (nee: Boehlke) Gore from Westbank, B.C. is visiting among her relatives at Endiang and area.

Les Stulberg attended the Alberta Parks and Recreation conference in Jasper on Oct. 25 – 27. Les represented the County of Stettler Regional Recreation Board.

Byemoor Curling Club has announced its bonspiels upcoming in the New Year. Two Person Toughman Bonspiel is on Jan. 5, 2019; Men’s Bonspiel — Jan. 28 - Feb. 2, 2019; Women’s Bonspiel — March 20 – 23, 2019 and the Mixed Bonspiel — March 27 – 30, 2019.

Big Valley Legion Remembrance Day Service will be held on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. Attendees are asked to please be seated by 10:50 a.m.

The next meeting and potluck lunch of the Big Valley Drop-In Centre is on Thursday, Nov. 15 at noon at the centre.

Big Valley Christmas Craft Show and Sale is set for Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Big Valley Community Hall. It will be a good place to get the jump on your Christmas shopping.
