Don’t forget the benefit potluck supper in Gadsby on Saturday, May 1 at the Gadsby Community Hall, for Shaun Derr, Gene and Darlene after losing the family farm house and all Shaun’s personal belongings to fire. This is a potluck meal so bring your favourite casserole, salad or dessert. There will be raffles and a silent auction. This weekend there will be a multi-family garage sale at the Botha Community Center. The sale starts 9 a.m. both Friday and Saturday and there is a lot of treasures to be found. Come out and enjoy a free coffee as well.
Birthday greetings to young Mac on his first birthday. Parents Aaron and Tasha hosted a birthday party for Mac at their home with grandparents Stan and Gloria Diegel, and family members, Wade and Ybiette and girls, Arden and Deanne and girls, Richelle and Greg and family. Birthday cake and presents topped the day.
The next Gadsby 100th anniversary meeting will be held on Monday, May 10 at the Gadsby Bank Building, starting at 7 p.m. Please mark this on your calendar and come on out!
Paulette and Percy Heer, along with Jeanne Biesel enjoyed a day trip to Carbon, stopping in the morning to take part in Grandparents Day at Clayton and Josie Wideman’s elementary school. Christy joined them for a quick lunch.
Word has come of the passing of two past residents of the Westwoods area. Helen (Strader) Jones, the youngest of Lawson Strader family and Ruth (Airey) Sibley, the last of the 11 Airey siblings. There will be a memorial for Ruth in Grande Prairie. She was 89 years of age.
