CKCS' Basketball Chargers travelled to SES on Jan. 27 to face off against the Stettler teams. The girls played well, and came close to a win by only trailing behind by 5 points. The boys took their second win of the season and quite enjoyed the game. Many of the younger players had a chance to show off their skills and succeeded in getting their first baskets of the season. Team members and fans alike cheered on Lukas Van Straten, Carter Cameron, and Kaydon Kennedy as they led the team to victory. Both of the Charger teams look forward to their tournament this weekend in Lacombe.

CKCS also held their annual Muchmusic Dance on Jan. 28. They had a record 71 students attend the event, which was filled with laughter, fun, and of course dancing. Thank you to all those who attended and help organize the event. It would not have been such a success without you! On Jan. 29, students had the day off of school. However, the CKCS teachers attended a PD session with the VIBE program. They spent the day reviewing the many different programs offered by the organization and were introduced to many resources that will help in teaching our students the skills they need to be successful. All staff agreed the day was very informative and we look forward to implementing the programs into our classrooms.

In February, CKCS looks forward to celebrating friendship, our monthly Mass, Ski Day, Pink Shirt Day, and many Spirit Days planned by the Spirit Squad.
