Chevelles performance was excellent

Warmer weather combined with the recent moisture has the countryside greening up beautifully. Farmers are busy seeding their crops.

Installation of rural water lines in the Byemoor – Endiang area has begun as contractors hired by the County of Stettler are laying pipe to about 40 farms in the area who wish to receive a safe and secure supply of potable water from the new water reservoirs in Endiang and Byemoor. The water is supplied by the Starland-Stettler line from Craigmyle, which in turn is supplied by the Henry Kroeger system at Hanna.

Congratulations to Lindsay Jennings and Warren Jones on the birth of their daughter Charleen Jean Jennings Jones on May 11 in Drumheller. Charleen weighed 9 lbs. 6 ½ oz. Congratulations also to the local grandparents Mark and Julie Jones and great-grandmother Anna Jones.

Lindsay’s mother Linda Jack of Nova Scotia spent a couple of weeks visiting here. Linda spent a good share of her time here patiently waiting for the arrival of her first grandchild.

Brenda Zeimer of Vancouver spent a week visiting with her mother Bernice Zeimer and sister Linda and Bill Smith and family, as well as other relatives and friends.

Congratulations to May Will and Ron Carothers, who were married on Friday, May 14 in Las Vegas. Best wishes to you both for a happy marriage. Terry Gallant was in charge of the hotel for a week during their absence.

Sympathy is extended to the Morlock family on the passing of Edgar Morlock on Friday in Hanna at 87 years of age. Our thoughts are with his wife Esther, sons Darryl (Colette) Morlock and Ken (Shelley) Morlock and daughter Heather (Darrel) Hammond.

There was an excellent turn out for The Chevelles performance on Saturday evening at the arena in Byemoor as about 300 people enjoyed the show and dance. The sponsors of the event, the Endmoor Minor Hockey Association, was very pleased with the support.

Some folks from our district attended the wedding of Tanya Rehill and Cameron Dmytryshyn in Hanna on Saturday. Krystal Stulberg was one of the bridesmaids.

The next centennial committee meeting is on Thursday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Endiang Hall.

Keep in mind the town clean-up bee in Endiang on Tuesday, May 25 at 7 p.m.
