Centennial excitement is mounting

Congratulations to our local William E. Hay grads of last weekend. Kristina Kobi had almost all the family in attendance and Mary Brennen attended a family celebration on Friday night for granddaughter Jackie Fleck who also graduated, along with Ty Rajewski from our area. We might not have as many students as once, but we are mighty in spirit.

Congratulations to Hazel and Dave Thomas on the arrival of a new grandson, Kyle Easton Trenchuck. Proud parents are Rosanna (Thomas) and Randy Trenchuck of Smoky Lake, Alberta and brother Ryan. Kyle weighed in at an even seven pounds on May 13. Dave and Hazel have spent some quality time with the new arrival already. This makes seven grandbabies in total.

Mark June 19 for our next supper and cash bingo. Supper starts 5 p.m.

Excitement is mounting as plans are coming together for the 100th anniversary. Parade, souvenirs, pictures and memorabilia are coming in and more is welcome!

Neal Walgenbach has been rained out in Saskatchewan with his chuckwagon, but isn’t it great to see the rain!

The Gadsby Minor League Ball ages 8-15 went to Brownfield where they did good, winning some of their games. Way to go.

Somewhere between my typing and the paper an error in Bryce and Verna Mailer’s anniversary which should read 60th anniversary, not 50th.
