Calling all volunteers!

DONALDA DIARY

Timing for the rain was perfect, hopefully everyone was finished seeding, because the grass was getting thirsty.

The Donalda & District AG Society is happy to announce we added new sand to the indoor riding arena and our outdoor riding arena is finished except for rock picking and sand. A couple of work bees from dedicated volunteers finished the perimeter and hung gates just in time for our 3rd Annual Ranch Rodeo.

The day started out with snow, but the show could still go on because of this great facility. The rodeo was an entertaining day with successful mini fundraisers, and ending with a delicious roast beef supper and great music from “The Genuine Cowgirls”.

Prize winners for the day were, 1st place, the Cox Family, Doug, Rita Megan and Cody, from Big Valley, 2nd place, Ed  Lange, Doug Stevenson, Darcy McKinny and Tyler Sueter from Hay Lakes, 3rd place, Lori & Zach Gordon , Ralph & Laurel Pole. Also had KMW Ranch, Tornado Twisters and Willow Creek Ranch receiving 4th, 5th and 6th place respectively.

Thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, teams and spectators, who made the day so successful. Mark the 1st Saturday of June 2012, for the 4th Annual Ranch Rodeo.

Both arenas are now available for rent, please contact Jodi Blouin at (403)883-2233 for inquiries.

Congratulations to Herb and Gerta Mueller in the celebration of 50 years of marriage, with family attending from Germany. Open house was held on June 5, 2011, with well-wishers of family and friends.

The Willy Bronze Golf Tournament was canceled, due to not enough participants. We would like to thank all of those that showed an interest in the event. We will be rescheduling the event at a later date.

Our next event for Donalda is the Donalda and District Museum presenting a Historical Evening on Donalda and area Native Sites, guest speakers being Dr. Heinz Pysczyk and Blair First Rider, Doors open at 6 p.m. with a Roast Beef Dinner. This will be held at the Donalda Community Hall. Tickets available at the Museum by calling 403-883-2100.
