BYEMOOR/ENDIANG NEWS — Looking back at some old records, we realized this fall marks the 10th anniversary of us writing the Endiang – Byemoor news column. To begin with we took over the Endiang column from Margaret Groat when she retired to Hanna. She had been the local correspondent for more than 40 years.
Not too much later Mary Kobi, the Byemoor correspondent, passed away. When no one stepped forward to pen that column we took it over as well. Mary had also written the news for more than 40 years.
We have no intention of trying to match the good work of these ladies for that length of time.
Word was received of the passing of Bill Burt of Creston, B.C. on Sunday, Oct. 30. He was 101 years old. Bill and his wife, the former Augusta Boehlke, farmed for many years in the Crow Hill district west of Scapa, before moving to Creston in 1978. Bill was predeceased by Augusta, his wife of 76 years, in 2012.
Our thoughts are with the Burt and Boehlke families in their loss.

How many folks observed the super-moon on Sunday night? With the moon in its closest orbit to the earth in many years, the November full moon is the largest since 1948 and will not be this close again until 2034.
