The Byemoor Farmers’ Bonspiel wrapped up Feb. 1 with the Al Hampton team of Rumsey claiming the championship spot by winning first in the ‘A’ Event. Runner up was JD Johnson of Halkirk with his second in the ‘A’ Event win.
In the ‘B’ Event — 1st – Tim Primrose, Rumsey. 2nd – Justin Jones, Byemoor.
In the ‘C’ Event — 1st – Jamie Kobi, Stettler. 2nd – John Schofer, Byemoor.
The twelve-team bonspiel saw entries from Castor, Halkirk, Stettler, Rumsey, Delia, and Byemoor. On Saturday evening, the curlers enjoyed a roast beef banquet. The winning teams could select from an impressive set of prizes.
Don’t forget the Family Day Bonspiel is coming up at the Byemoor Curling Rink on Monday, Feb. 17. Contact Eugene Nixon at 403-742-9616 if you want to enter your family team and join in on the fun. More teams are needed to make the bonspiel happen.

Remember, Drop-in Curling goes every Monday evening beginning at 7 p.m. at the Byemoor Curling Rink. Everyone is welcome and it is free of charge.
The Byemoor Centennial Meeting to finalize plans for the June 7th celebration will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Byemoor Community Hall. All ideas and help are welcomed, please attend if you can.
Bob and Janet Campbell and Dave and Lynne Nixon returned home on Feb. 1 from a week-long vacation to Mexico. They enjoyed a beautiful all-inclusive resort at Mazatlan – a nice break from winter. The area was a bit cooler than usual but not as frigid as what they returned home to in Alberta.
Betty Campbell and Doreen Nixon along with Betty Primrose and Jackie Watts of Rumsey enjoyed a short trip to Laughlin, Nevada where they had a fun time trying their luck. We hope Lady Luck was on your side, ladies.
There will be a Community Pot Luck Supper at the Endiang Community Hall on Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to bring their favourite dish and join in.
Events coming up in the Scapa community are the monthly Potluck Dinner at the Scapa Hall on Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. and the Scapa Athletic Association meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
