Byemoor Endiang news

Many Byemoor / Endiang curling fans took in the 2025 Alberta Boston Pizza Cup provincial men’s curling competition held in Stettler on Feb. 5 – 9 and hosted by the Erskine Curling Club. Hats off to the many volunteers who made this event happen in our part of the province.

We extend heartfelt sympathy to the family of Bryce Quaschnick who passed away on Feb. 6 at 47 years of age. Bryce and his wife, Alona (nee Abram), are well-known in the Hanna farming and sports community.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Bryce on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Hanna Community Centre.

Our thoughts are with Alona, and all the friends and members of the Quaschnick and Abram families in their very sad loss.

Happy 65th Birthday wishes are sent to Dee Green who celebrated her special birthday on Feb. 7. She enjoyed a family outing in Calgary on Friday and then on Saturday, Feb. 8 was joined by several family and friends for a birthday celebration at the Byemoor Hotel.

Congratulations Dee on your milestone birthday and enjoy being on the government payroll now.

Members of the Byemoor 4-H Beef Club held their public speaking competition and demonstration presentations on Sunday, Feb. 9 at the Endiang Community Hall. Public speaking is a valuable skill used throughout your life, so kudos to all 4-Hers on learning and enhancing those skills. Good luck to all who are advancing to District Level competitions.

Hockey fans don’t forget the Byemoor Boar’s Cup hockey tournament is coming up on Feb. 14 – 16 at the Endmoor Arena in Byemoor. Be sure to check out the action, the concession will be open.

Remember the Community Pot Luck Supper at the Endiang Community Hall on Friday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to bring their favourite dish and join in.

There’s still time to get your team entered to participate in the Byemoor Closing Bonspiel on Feb.25 – March 1. Contact Eugene Nixon at 403-742-9616 or Justin Jones at 403-741-6784 to get your entries in.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all — don’t forget to do something nice for your special someone.

February is also Kindness Month, so being a little kinder, a bit more understanding and a tad more helpful to others goes a long way in making their day a little brighter and doesn’t cost a thing. You never know what hurdles someone else might be going through.

Valentine’s Day Humour —

“The heck with Valentine’s Day, I’m just waiting for the discounted chocolate on Feb. 15th.”

“What kind of flowers do you never give on Valentine’s Day? Cauliflowers.”

“All you need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.”

“All my girlfriend wanted for Valentine’s Day was a little card — a Visa card.”
