Kristy Smith and Claire Hamilton of Fleet, Hampshire, England are visiting Kristy’s parents Bill and Linda Smith and other family members. Kristy and Claire are planning a two-week stay in Alberta before returning to the U.K.

Congratulations to Ashley Keith and Wyatt Smith who were married on Saturday, Aug. 24. The wedding was held on their farm near Big Valley. Ashley is the daughter of Brian Keith and Jodi Johnson and the granddaughter of Deanna Johnson.

We wish the newlyweds all the best for a long and happy marriage.

Russ and Linda Kobi travelled to Saskatoon for the Girls 16U National Baseball Championships Aug. 22 – 25. Their granddaughter Hadley Prehn of Stettler was playing for the Alberta team. Congratulations to the Alberta girls on winning the Silver medal.

They had some tightly contested games, winning one of the games after three extra innings. Other local girls on the team were Taylor Elines of Big Valley and Summer Greiner of Stettler and the remainder were from across Alberta.

Hats off to the residents of the hamlets of Endiang and Byemoor for the excellent care they put into maintaining their yards and keeping the common spaces mowed and trimmed. The hamlets have looked great all summer, neat as a pin with lots of flowers blooming to add colour.

It is a pleasure to visit the little hamlets and see the pride they have in keeping everything nice.

Humour for the Day —

“Do you have a hole in your sock? If not, how do you get your foot in it?”

“You know you are an adult when you get excited just to go home.”

“Life is like a roller coaster ride. It has lots of ups and downs and is over way too soon.”

“When life gives you lemons, squirt someone in the eye.”

“My favourite text message – I’ll be there in five minutes; if I’m not, read again.”
