The annual general meeting of the Endiang Community Society is coming up on Wed, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Endiang Hall. All interested in happenings at the hall are most welcome to attend.
Doreen Nixon and her daughter Becky Nixon were the guests of honour at an open house hosted by their family at the Byemoor Hotel on Jan. 21 to celebrate their birthdays. Doreen was marking her 70th birthday while Becky, who was born on the same day as her mom, was celebrating a much smaller number.
A number of friends and relatives attended to wish the ladies well and enjoy some birthday cake and beverages with them. Congratulations on your special milestone, Doreen and best wishes for many more to you both.
There is Drop-in curling at the Byemoor Curling Club every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Everyone who is interested is welcome to participate.
Hockey action in Byemoor on the Jan. 21-22 weekend saw the Endmoor Thunder U9 team host Carstairs on Saturday and Drumheller on Sunday.
The area has been experiencing plenty of foggy days with frosty sculptures lately; but, the downside is the heavy frost on power lines has caused some power outages. Our hats go off to the ATCO employees for working long hours to restore the power in all areas.
For those who believe in the folklore that precipitation will follow fog by 90 days, it may mean a very wet April. Time will tell.
Be sure to enter your curling teams in the Byemoor Farmer’s Bonspiel running from Jan. 30 – Feb. 4. Teams may be men, women or mixed. Also, the Byemoor Mixed Bonspiel will be held Feb. 27 – March 4.

The curling team of Jim Krautt, Tyler Stulberg, Eugene Nixon and Ralph Danielson participated in the Stettler Farmer’s Bonspiel on Jan. 20-22, winning third in the ‘A’ Event.
