Byemoor 4-H holding fundraiser

Byemoor 4-H Beef Club is once again holding its online fundraising auction.

It begins on Nov. 20 and ends on Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. To donate or bid go to Facebook and go to Byemoor Beef Auction Fundraiser 2024. For more information contact Maureen Mappin-Smith at 403-321-0501 or Suzanne Sorensen at 403-741-8747.

This is a great way to support the young 4-H members.

Dan and Verla Buchwitz have returned from visiting their daughter Susan and her husband in Taxco, Mexico. They enjoyed more than three weeks in Mexico, a nice way to shorten winter.

Byemoor Santa Day and Christmas Market will be held on Nov. 30 at the Byemoor Community Hall. The market will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A concession booth is available. Sleigh Rides around town run from 1 to 3 p.m. Santa Claus arrives at 2 p.m. with candy bags and photo opportunities, as well as hearing the children’s wish lists. Any donations to the community bake sale table are most appreciated.

Mark and Julie Jones are home from a trip to Vancouver Island where they visited several friends. Their visit took them to Courtney, Ladysmith and Campbell River. Traci Jones’ dad lives at Campbell River.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Wes Robinson who passed away on Nov. 13 in Hanna at the age of 88 years. Wes married Ruby Bossert of Endiang in 1957. They raised two children Blake and Sherrie on their farm near Watts.  Wes and Ruby later moved to Hanna. Our thoughts are with Ruby, Blake (Lisa), Sherrie (Steve) and their families as well as other relatives in their sad loss.

Eric, Maureen and Tulsa Smith, along with Jean Mappin, returned home on Nov. 16 from a Disney Cruise. They were joined by Chris and Aleah (nee Longshore) Farmer.  The cruise took them to the Bahamas and Cozumel, Mexico and they also spent time in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

By all reports, it was a wonderful trip.

Endmoor Arena is seeing hockey action coming up.  Concession and 50/50 will be available. On Nov. 30, Endmoor U7 team hosts Drumheller at 9 a.m.  Endmoor / BV U9 team hosts Delburne at 11 a.m. and Endmoor / BV team hosts Beiseker at 12:30 p.m. Come out and cheer on the local youngsters.

Church at Endiang's annual Christmas Carol service, “Carols in the Cathedral”, takes place on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2:30 p.m. at the Endiang Community Hall. Coffee time to follow and everyone is welcome.

Take note, if you’re looking to make New Year’s Eve plans, there will be a family dance at the Byemoor Community Hall on Dec. 31. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music by Daly Up and Dance from Hanna with Midnight lunch and fireworks. A great way to bring in 2025.
