Busy week at Big Valley Library

BIG VALLEY BULLETIN -- The Big Valley Library will be hosting a children's program on April 15 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. to greet the spring.

BIG VALLEY BULLETIN -- The Big Valley Library will be hosting a children's program on Friday, April 15 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. to greet the spring. We will be constructing moisture dishes for our friends, the butterflies and bees. Everyone is welcome to attend. Children under five years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

The Big Valley Library Ukulele Club will meet on Monday, April 18 at 11 a.m. Come on out and join the fun. Everyone is welcome.

At 2 p.m. on Monday, April 18, the Friends of the Big Valley Library Society will host the Talking Circle book talk with Lavera Goodeye, an Alberta-based author who made her foray into the world of non-fiction through her memoir Seven to Seventy: My Journey through Time. Goodeye explores ideas of conflict resolution through the voices of her childhood and the peace she was able to attain through perseverance, determination and support. Qualified as a group facilitator and trained in Family Intervention and Youth Support at Metis Child and Family Services, Goodeye provides support through her talking circles and healing workshops to adults and seniors.

Fifteen players came out for crib at the Big Valley Inn on Sunday, April 10. Doug Harrold took first place, Vi McCarty took second, Len Shaw took third and Ernie Petrussia went home with the booby. Mary Wilkie won the draw. See you all next Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Big Valley Slo-Pitch League will be holding a meeting at the Big Valley Inn on Wednesday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. For more information call Alana at 876-2247.

Don't forget. the next community pancake supper at the Big Valley Drop-in Centre, will be on Monday, April 18 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. The regular potluck and meeting is on April 21 at 12 noon.
