Buffalo Lake plan discussed in Erskine

Erskine hosted the “Buffalo Lake Inter-municipal Development Plan” meeting last Saturday, Aug. 14. Residents from counties of Stettler, Camrose, and Lacombe were in attendance as well as those from summer villages of Rochon Sands and White Sands. Over 100 people attended the meeting. The draft plan was presented to those in attendance and the public were given the opportunity to make verbal and written responses to the plan.

Now, the plan will go back to the counties and summer villages in working out an area structure plan for the lake before it will be implemented.

White Sands is upgrading their dock from a 9-foot to a 12-foot and twinning it, and in so doing, making it into two launches. They have already made the road going to the dock into it a loop road for easier access, so now the two launches are going to make boating a lot quicker, easier and nicer.

Erskine United Church has resumed its services for the fall with Sunday services starting at 9 a.m. for August, September and October.

Erskine Evangelical Free Church’s vacation Bible school will be held beginning Aug. 30 to September 2 from 3 - 5:30 p.m. This will catch children who are home from vacation and ready to go to school. So it’s a great time to get acquainted with friends again after the summer break.

Birthday wishes go out to Leanne Leicht Aug 18, Don Gardner Aug 24 and Yvonne Dyer Aug 24.
