Children’s laughter filled the air outside the Stettler Independent on a warm July day.

Don Bezjack, of CrossBar Aussies, had stopped by the plaza in front of the Stettler Independent with the latest litter of puppies from his breeding operation located in Stettler County on July 25.

Bezjack said he likes to bring the puppies with him when he comes to town as it gives them an opportunity to get socialized before they go to their new homes.

The puppies were a special treat for Luke, Jade and Avideh Wardell of Edmonton, who happened to be in Stettler visiting family.

Bezjack had six puppies with him in a kennel, which, after some tentative steps, were excited to explore the area and play with the children.

The puppies ranged from mainly grey in colour to multi-coloured, and all liked being held and snuggled.

Bezjack remained with the dogs for around half an hour.
