BOTHA BOOSTER -- This coming Sunday, Sept. 11 is Grandparents' Day. So if you're lucky enough to still have yours, please make your grandparents' day a great one for them.

First and foremost, floor curling happens on Thursday afternoons (not Wednesdays), starting at 1 p.m. at the Botha Seniors' Centre, So please make a note of this. Everyone is more than welcome to attend. They would love to see us all out for a game.

It's been a year now since Jace Thorsteinson's terrible accident and what an amazing young man. A determined guy, he has come a long way since then.We in the Botha community are very proud of the achievements he has made. Like Jace says, "the sky is the limit", and he has been working extremely hard to come where he is today and is pushing to reach where he was before that tragic day and beyond.

Jace received a beautiful buckle at the last rodeo he attended, just a little while ago from his Stettler and area competitors. The committee had it custom made after Jace's accident, which they presented to him at this rodeo. Way to go, Jace!

McKenzie Hankins safely got to the University of Saskatchewan on Sept. 1,where she will be attending classes there to become a vet. Way to go, McKenzie! We here in the Botha community are very proud of you.We wish you all the very best in the future.

Congratulations go out to the big winner of the jackpot which took place on Aug. 31. Next Bingo evening is Wednesday, Sept. 14 starting at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully everyone can attend.

With the 2016/2017 school year having started on Monday, Aug. 29, the speed limits are back in force, so please keep your eyes open as the children hurry to school.

These dances are open to all age groups, so everyone is more than welcome to attend. The band that will be starting this year off will be the Old Tyme Aires, and they are a fantastic band, so you wouldn't want to miss out on the fun. The theme for this dance is the harvest-hard time dance, so please dress accordingly. Some ideas are old wear old patched blue jeans or coveralls etc. These dances start at 1:30 p.m. till 5 p.m. at the Botha Hall, at which time they have a potluck luncheon.
