Summer seems to be passing very quickly again this year, only three weeks left until school starts again.
They are working hard at the school on the renovations inside and out.
I hope last weeks weather didn’t mess them up too much.
The United Church is having their 100th anniversary this Sunday, services will be at 11a.m. because of this there will be no church service on Thursday August 13.
Regular Thursday services will resume on August 20 at 7p.m.In case the fact the church is having their 100th makes you wonder about the village’s anniversary, it actually will take place in 2011.
The Botha Senior Centre will be hosting bingo on August 18 the doors open at 6:30p.m.
All other activities will resume in September.
As you all know every year many locals take part is the MS Walk.
The numbers are in from the 2009 walk and Stettler and area teams raised nearly $20,000 for MS research. Botha’s Shep’s Crew raised $6,909, Stettler’s Memory Lapses raised $10,925, the Stettler Go Getters raised $710 and Rob and Betty Birch raised $455.
Mark September 26 on your calender as we will be hosting a “ Raise the Roof” fund raiser to help with the cost of improvements to the arena. A very happy birthday goes out to Jean Jackson who is turning eighty.
