Book drop seems empty and lonely, remember it’s just been relocated

As the capricious Alberta weather teases us, we are looking forward to feeling safe and warm with all the programs we have to offer this year (regardless of whatever Mother Nature brings us this coming summer.)

For the summer reading program, I have made presentations at Botha School and Christ-King Catholic School, and will be presenting to Stettler elementary, and Erskine School later this month. Kids will learn about this year’s program, and will be sent home with brochures.

It would not be quite as fun without some very unique and interesting crafts during our jungle-themed program.

If anyone has any shoeboxes, pop bottles, toilet paper rolls, or leftover face paints from Halloween, we would greatly appreciate the donation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the library at 742.2292, or at summersteph@libs.prl.ab.ca.

Shaunzy also plans on keeping your teens entertained this summer, as our popular teen night will expand. Teen night will run on Tuesday afternoons from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m, as well as Friday afternoons from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m, and Saturdays from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. All teens are welcome.

For adults only, our “Sizzling Sixteen” book launch party is coming June 22 at the library. If you are interested, please RSVP to Heidi as soon as possible, as time and space is limited. With good food, games, and prizes, all you Stephanie Plum fans will not want to miss this one. Heidi can be contacted at 742.2292, or heidi@libs.prl.ab.ca.

Lately, our book drop has been quite empty and lonely. This is just a reminder that book drop hasn’t left us; it just relocated to the left side of the main doors in the brick wall outside the Rec Center.

Remember not to let the weather affect your mood or plans, because the library is always here whether it’s rain or shine.
