STETTLER PUBLIC LIBRARY -- It's Stettler Trade Show weekend!

Join us the Stettler Public Library booth (A9) Friday through to Sunday. Stop in, say hi and give our prize wheel a spin for a chance to win some great prizes. Believe me when I say that there are fabulous prizes because I would love to have them all.

I know that our smiling faces will keep you down at our trade show booth for a while, but don't forget it is also the weekend of the Giant Book Sale held by the Friends of the Library. Check out the great bargains on Friday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stock up your personal collection and support the library at the same time.

Because of the trade show and the book sale, we have moved Readers' Circle to Thursday, April 14 7 p.m. when we discuss The Road to Little Dribbling by Bill Bryson. Twenty years ago, Bill Bryson went on a trip around Britain to discover that green and pleasant land. The result was Notes from a Small Island, a true classic and one of the bestselling travel books ever written. Now he has traveled about Britain again to see what has changed—and what hasn't. Nothing is more entertaining than Bill Bryson on the road—and on a tear. The Road to Little Dribbling reaffirms his stature as a master of the travel narrative—and a really, really funny guy, his website BillBrysonBooks.com. Copies of the books are available for checkout at the library. Everyone is welcome to join us for a great discussion and a spot of tea.

Read and Rhyme is pleased to present April Showers on Friday, April 15 at 10:30 a.m. Little people ages 0-5 and their big people are welcome to join Kayla for fun with spring and weather themed crafts and activities.

Are you ready to play in dirt? Can't wait to get the garden started? Come join us at the library on Saturday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m. for Paper Pots: A Gardening Activity for Everyone with Rob Spencer from Stettler Community Blooms. Come make and fill your own simple biodegradable plant pots and start a few plants for spring. Get the whole family involved in this year's garden with this wonderful program.

Are you interested in joining a library cookbook club? We'd meet on a Monday night for a potluck dinner with a different cookbook selected each month. In order to proceed, we need a firm commitment from five or more patrons. Let's meet up on Monday May 16 at 6:15 p.m. for dinner. Please RSVP by email to spl@prl.ab.ca.

Keep an eye out for additional activities on our website (spl.prl.ab.ca) and Facebook page. And if you have an activity you'd like to do/see at the library, feel free to approach us.
