BOTHA NEWS -- It was a busy time at the Botha Community Hall as the Old Tyme Aires Band kicked off the new Old Tyme Dance season on Sunday, Sept. 25. This time the dance theme was Harvest/Old Time, so many participants came dressed in old-fashioned clothes. If you missed this dance, don’t worry it’s back again in October. For more information on these Old Tyme Dances please call Doug Haustein at 403-742-3994 or John Blonski at 403-574-2197.

Join in a friendly game of Bingo tonight at the Botha Senior Centre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the bingo balls start rolling at 7:15. Come on out and try your luck.

Quilting takes over the Senior Centre this Monday, starting at 9:30 a.m. Our quilters would love to see everyone join them. Quilting takes place the second and last Monday of each month. If you have never quilted before, come out as they would love to teach the special skills of this traditional craft.

Every Tuesday afternoon are friendly games of carpet bowling at the Senior Centre, starting at 1 p.m. Come and join in the fun.

Every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. is coffee time, so come in and get your caffeine fix. Don’t forget, every Thursday is floor curling, starting at 1 p.m.

On Oct. 6, the Senior Centre will hold its meeting, starting at 12 noon. This important meeting starts out with a potluck luncheon, with the meeting to follow. This year, they are going to be playing cards right after the meeting. Normally held on the first Monday of the month, this October sees the meeting move to Tuesday, so please take note.
