BIG VALLEY BULLETIN — Big Valley Minor Hockey would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for the generous support of their Friday, Nov. 25 Winter Kickoff. They raised $610 for the local food bank.
The Big Valley Legion is hosting their Annual Pioneer Dinner this Saturday, Dec. 10 for area residents 65 and older.
Come join us at the Big Valley Children’s Christmas Party this Sunday, Dec.11 at the Jubilee Hall. Lunch will be served at 12 noon with entertainment and our annual visit from Santa to follow. The Big Valley Agricultural Society will hold their annual meeting on Monday, Dec. 12 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Big Valley Community Hall. On the agenda are arena and ball diamond activities for 2017. Everyone is welcome.
Elks Annual Turkey Bingos will be in Rumsey on Wednesday, Dec. 7 and in Big Valley on Wednesday, Dec. 14. There are turkeys for door prizes, gift certificates for all bingos and Royal Purple cakes for ties. Bingos start at 7:30 p.m. Come on out join the fun.
Students and staff of the Big Valley School invite everyone to join them at the Jubilee Hall on Monday, Dec. 19 for an evening of holiday fun at their “A Merry Fairy Christmas” production of their annual Christmas Concert. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. for a bake sale, with the concert to start at 7 p.m. Come on out and enjoy an evening of great entertainment. Everyone is welcome.
The Village of Big Valley and the Rodeo Association are hosting “Christmas in the Village” on Thursday, Dec. 22 at the Jubilee Hall beginning at 6 p.m. The Rodeo Association will hold sleigh rides and the “Best Decorated House Contest” along with a wiener roast around toe-warming bonfires just outside the hall.
Inside the hall there will be free chili and an assortment of Christmas treats. Friends of the Library will offer children’s games and activities and a “children only” shopping area. For the adults, there will be cribbage, cards and board games. Enjoy entertainment by Rosco, Christmas caroling and a musical selection from the Big Valley Ukulele Club. The Hall Board will offer a cash bar as well as free non-alcoholic beverages. Come out and join us for a fun community celebration.
