Spring is officially here and with it, the winter pursuits are winding down while Big Valley gears up for a new season of activities.

The Big Valley arena has closed the rink for the season as preparations are being made for the Bust-out Rodeo to be held on April 9 and 10. Minor ball registrations have been sent out through the school.

Remember to visit the Canadian Northern Railway Station Open House being held on Saturday, March 27 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Twelve players were out for crib at the Big Valley Inn on March 21, making up two tables. At table one, 1st was Margaret Levesque, 2nd Arlyne Hingst and 3rd Len Shaw with the booby going to Ernie Petrussa. At table two, 1st was Joanne Murphy, 2nd Viola Moyer and 3rd Bob Authenac with the booby going to Gladys Groat. There will be no crib on Sunday, April 4 since it is Easter Sunday.

The Big Valley Legion has scheduled a meeting for Monday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m.

In community hall board Bingo news, the progressive jackpot continues to grow. Next week in 52 numbers, it will be $147 plus. The consolation winner this week was Darlene S. Bonanza no. two winner was Shirley V. with that consolation going to Tommasina L. The looney pot is at $117 plus. March 25 will be the last Bingo of the season. Come out for some fun and support your local community hall board.

Don’t forget: the meeting of the Big Valley Beautification and Cultural Society is on Monday, March 29 at 7 p.m.
