Ernie Petrussa celebrated his 80h birthday at his house on July 16 with 24 family and friends gathering for a pot luck supper and birthday cake. His birthday was on July 14, which he spent in Drumheller for supper.
Homecoming is fast approaching and here is an update on the weekend activities. Museum open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. United Church will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Check with registration desk for Sunday opening.
St. Edmonds Church is open while trains are in and on request (ask at Museum). The train will be in Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Legion Hall open in the afternoons; seniors’ Drop-in Centre open 1- 3 or 4 on Saturday (School Reunions) Free birthday cake every day. Friday registration is between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jubilee Hall; beer garden 2 p.m. onward; supper is between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dance starts at 9 p.m. with live music.
In library news, Wednesdays 10 a.m to 11:30 a.m is the summer reading club. The theme is centered around being a private eye. Friday’s kids only computer club is between noon and 3:30 p.m.
Cookbooks are still on sale. During homecoming, watch for the tent set up next to the library. The wireless internet is up and running, which means you can access the internet on your laptop anywhere around the library. Check with library with regard to their internet use policy.
