The 4-H Beef Show and Sale was held on the 23rd and 24th of May at the Byemoor arena. We started off on the 23rd, the heifer show, with the stall display set up at nine o’clock. Afterwards, the weigh in for the heifers began. Then the heifer show began. There were a bunch of great looking heifer and cows. The best head of cattle you will see is at the 4-H Beef Show Sales. Congratulations to all those who placed and those who participated!

People were up bright and early for the 24th of May. At the Byemoor arena, the Steer Show and Sale would begin at 9:30 in the morning. The morning was a blur of washing steers and having a great pancake breakfast provided by Bill’s Farm Supply. Once our stomachs were full, we started the show a while later. Our club did great in the show along with the other clubs. In our club, our Champion Steer was Brandon Nemetz’s. Our Reserve Champion was Shayla Derr’s. The awards banquet was held at the Byemoor Hall. Thank you to all the supporters and prizes!

We ended the night with the sale, and as usual, everybody did great. I am sure that within a year, we will be doing it all over again and we will all be having a good time just like this year and the many years before that. Big Thank you to supporters, sponsors, judges, announcers and everybody who lent a helping hand.

Don’t forget the District 4-H fun day is on June 17 at the Gadsby Ball Diamond at five in the afternoon. And it’s a potluck supper, so bring some goodies.

And you Big Knife Beef members, don’t forget that our next meeting is on June 13 at 7 p.m. It will be held at the Botha Senior Centre.
