Big 4-H days for Erskine kids

Thirty-two teams participated in the Erskine Ladies’ Bonspiel last weekend.

Thirty-two teams participated in the Erskine Ladies’ Bonspiel last weekend. Winners of the A event were Daylon Brown, Brett Bignell, Deneen Brown and Diane Rattray. Second in the A event was the Lindsay Thorsen rink, third was Marj Wells and fourth was Crystal Smith. In the B event, winners were Teresa Kneeland, Wendy Meston, Kim Klatt and Shianne Klatt. Second was the Lois Wells rink, third Tammy Love and fourth Rene Lepard. The C event winners were Christine Erichsen, Lisa Duffin, Carylon Erichsen and A J Armstrong. Second was the Muhlbach rink, third was Tracy Volker and fourth was Connie Devnich.

The CARA basketball took place last Saturday in Stettler and the Erskine boys placed second, playing against Brownfield. They will go on this weekend to play in the CWAJAHAA in Bentley. Good luck, boys! The girls placed fifth in the tournament.

Teachers’ convention is this Thursday and Friday so no school for the kids. March 13 is “Back to the 80’s Dress up” day.

Parents Council (EEPS) will hold their meeting this coming Monday at 5:30. It is hoped that this new day and time will encourage more parents to attend these meetings. They have been sadly lacking in participation and yet this council is very important to the school.

The Erskine 4-H will have their elocution speeches this Thursday, March 5 at 6 at the school. Following that, on March 11, the district 4-H will have their speeches at 6:30 at the school.

The knitting club will have their retreat this weekend. They will be knitting up items to donate to various institutions.

Don’t forget crib at the seniors’ on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to come and play.

Congratulation to Sherry’s Scrap’n Shop and Erskine Post Office which will be celebrating their 10th anniversary this week.
