GADSBY/WESTWOODS NEWS -- With the start of school comes all the fringe benefits, including football season. Barb and Vic Carey enjoyed the Wildcats' home game in Stettler, watching grandson Lincoln Carey, and the team win over Ponoka, 70-0 on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 15.

Members of the Omega Circle drove to Mirror to the home of Jimaine Walgenbach for the September meeting. Plans are already underway for the annual bazaar, the most important change being moving the bazaar location to Botha Hall. The events of the day will remain the same, with pail prizes, crafts and baking, the main raffle and white elephant table, along with the childrens popcorn raffle. The date this year is Saturday, Oct. 29. Mark your calendars.

Bar Harbour Camp council is holding their third annual Dessert Night this Thursday evening, Sept. 22, starting at 7 p.m. Teresa's Catering will be serving.

An info introduction will be presented to all that has happened this year including construction and improvements at the camp. Everyone's welcome.

Alex Skocdopole celebrated his 17th birthday on Saturday night (actual day Friday), with his family, also Wade and Ybiett and their four kids; Arden and Deanne and their four girls; Tasha and family of three; Nana and Papa Diegel and Grandpa Jim.

Velvet Nickerson attended the baby shower for Cruz James Newman, new baby son of Trish and Scott Newman and big sister Sierra. This was hosted by grandma Mary Ann (Rowles) Russell at the Fleet Hall. Cruz was born Friday, Sept. 2.
