Hope you remembered your tags for fido as they will now cost you $100; if your pooch is caught without it, though, there is a much larger fine.
The Botha Community Centre is looking forward to spring when the arena project can get under way, both the roof and the boards will be replaced and puck board will also be added.
As we look to spring it would be nice if we could put together a group of volunteers for the ball diamonds, they are in need of a lot of work and our current volunteers are stretched to the max. If you want to give even an hour of time please give Marsha a call at 403 742 2559. All hall and arena bookings will now be taken by Marsha as well.
The Botha Senior Centre continues with carpet bowling Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m., floor curling is Thursday’ at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., military whist Feb. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
The Old Time Dance Club had another successful year of dancing in 2009. The enjoyment was shared amongst many locals and distant dance enthusiasts. With needy families in mind, they were able to donate five hundred dollars to the food bank. The next dance is the Valentine dance on Feb. 12 at 8p.m. with the Gate Valley Minstriles playing, everyone welcome.
The Botha United church continues to hold worship at 11 a.m. on Sundays.
Our sympathies are extended to Dela and Marvyn Harris and Jay Campbell and families on the loss of Dustin Campbell; services were held at the Stettler Funeral home Sunday, Jan. 31, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
