Rain, rain and more rain was the story last week when the district received about three inches of rain. The prairie sod is soaked up and fields are saturated. The sloughs are full, creeks are running and low spots in the fields drowned out. With some sunshine, things should really grow now and the mosquitoes will no doubt thrive.
Several members of the Wild Rose Explorers RV Club from various points in Alberta and B.C. spent the weekend in Endiang camping. This is their fourth visit to Endiang. They were fortunate to have a sunny, warm weekend, although the ground north of the hall was so soggy, some ended up camping on the street.
Clifford James has recently moved a mobile home onto the former Hintz farm.
Some folks from our district attended the wedding of Michele Mohl and Shane Toews in Hanna on Saturday. Michele is the daughter of David and Kris Mohl of Hanna and the granddaughter of Ken and Eleanor Schultz of Endiang. We wish this young couple all the best in their married life. They will be residing in Hanna.
Members of the Woelk and Stulberg families attended the memorial graveside service at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery for Pat (nee Glubrecht) Foksa on Saturday.
Alf and Betty Woelk of Calgary were weekend visitors with Bruce and Kate Woelk, while here for Pat Foksa’s memorial service.
Twila Buchwitz and her mother Sandi Hodgeson recently attended a grocer’s conference in Edmonton.
Doug and Deanna Johnson, along with their grandchildren Kelsey, Cody, Ashley and Gunnar Keith spent the weekend in Medicine Hat with Scott and Tara Johnson and girls. They took in the girls’ dance revue as well as the chuckwagon races.
Agnes Sorensen accompanied her sister Mickey Pearn to the Camrose area on Saturday for the 69th wedding anniversary celebration of Herman and Ruby Atema. The Sorensens and Atemas were longtime “snowbird” friends.
Jim and Maureen Wasdal spent the weekend at Linden where Jim was playing slo-pitch.
