BOTHA BOOSTER -- This past Monday, Feb. 29, some of the Old-Thyme Dance Club spent a exciting time with the residents at the Willow Creek Lodge. The Alec Salmon and group attended and played some great music for everyone to dance to.So between the dance club and some residents getting up and dancing to the music, they all had a great time. The club members that attended were Dan and Joyce Silbernagel, Mervin and Marilyn Pennford, Gordon McLellan, Burnie and Doug Haustein, Fran Clark, Don Blonski,Edith Plante, Terry and Dianne Crisd and Hugo and Sharon Gerdung. (Hopefully I spelt everyone's name right, if not, I really apologize) It sounded like everyone had a great time. To end this fantastic time, they were served a lovely lunch which everyone enjoyed.
The club also loves to participate in community service; as a sad and not very happy occasion, for example, they have served lunches at funerals etc, so if you would like any help with something or find out more information on this dance club, call Doug Haustein at 403-742-3994 or John Blonski at 403-574-2197.
The club would also like to remind you that there will not be a dance this month due to Easter but they are holding two dances in April instead and the first one will be held on April 3, starting at 1:30 p.m., so come on out then and enjoy this dance.The "Sparkling Tones Band" will be entertaining the group that afternoon so it's bound to be a fun filled event, you will not want to miss out.
Botha village office meeting will be held on March 24 starting at 7 p.m. These are very important meetings, so please attend.
As we move into the Easter Season, next Sunday, March 20t is the first day of spring (also Palm Sunday), Easter is not far to follow. So hopefully now we start having some spring weather , even if it's been a very mild winter. With calving season and other animals being born this month, nice weather will be nice to see.
Quiltin happens again on Monday, March 14, so come on out at 9:30 a.m and join the group, they would love to see you.
Then next Wednesday March 16, come on out for a friendly game of Bingo starting at 7:15 p.m., doors open at 6:30. Who knows, you could be one of the lucky winners that evening.
A very happy belated birthday goes out to J.D. Thorsteinson and his mother Jamie, for the past week. J.D's was on March 2 and Jamie's was March 7, so I hope both of you had a great time on your special day. Happy Birthday, D.J and Jamie..
