BIG VALLEY

Fall has officially arrived, and with it the beginning of Big Valley’s social season. Keep an eye open for coming announcements and mark your calendars for a host of fun community events.

Hall Board Bingo kicks off its new season Oct. 6 at the Big Valley Community Hall. Pre-call is at 7:30. Come on out and join the fun.

The Big Valley United Church will hold its annual fall supper Oct. 16. Everyone is welcome. Anyone with extra potatoes or carrots, contact Sharon Duncan at 403-876-2779.

The Big Valley Legion will hold a meeting Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Legion Hall.

The 4-H Beef Club is recruiting new members. Anyone interested in joining is asked to contact Doug Duncan at 403-876-2564 by Friday.

The Big Valley United Church Sunday School is collecting gently used, clean, winter coats for the Coats for Kids program. While all coat donations will be accepted and are greatly appreciated, there’s an overwhelming need specifically for children’s winter coats. The goal is to make sure that every child in the county of Stettler who needs a coat this winter gets one.

Donations can be dropped off at Big Valley United Church basement on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call Priscilla at 403-579-2569.

A big thank you to the organizers and golfers of the Big Valley Memorial Golf Tournament for the generous donations made to the Big Valley School Breakfast Program and the Big Valley Community Library. Your continued support within this community is greatly appreciated by all.
