New art exhibit opening soon

Donalda Art Gallery will feature another talented artist.

The Donalda Gallery for the Arts will be featuring the acrylic paintings of Doris Banziger from Aug. 17 to Sept. 10. There will also be an art opening event on Friday, Aug. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Donalda Gallery. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. The next Red Lamp Market will be taking place on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. by the Big Lamp, rain or shine. This market promotes all types of vendors. Vendors must pre-book with Amanda at 403-741-6095.

The Donalda Museum will be holding Museum Day! On Saturday, Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be free admission into the Museum, as well as a concession and mini-games. This is a wonderful day to bring out the whole family and explore not only the Museum but the wonderfully scenic Village of Donalda. For more information please call 403-883-2100.

Willow Canyon Drive-In Movie will be featuring the film ‘Pixels’ on Friday, Aug. 25 with the film beginning at dusk (approximately 9:30 p.m.). Gates and concession will be open at 7 p.m. The film will be featured on a 20’ x 40’ outdoor movie screen in the scenic Donalda Coulee Badlands. There will be a full concession available, feel free to come out and explore the Badlands before the movie. For more information please contact 403-883-2943.

The Wild Pink Yonder group enjoyed Donalda and the coulees so much last year that they will be back again for September long weekend starting on Friday, Sept. 1. If you would like to ride with them on any or all of these days please contact Becky Clement at 403-883-2436. The Ag Society has donated the grounds and the area and kitchen for this group. A huge thank you to them. If you want to book a campsite please contact the Ag Society. If you wish to donate to Breast Cancer Research in Alberta please contact Bruce at 403-883-2943.

The Donalda Coulee Friendship Club will be closed on Saturdays for the month of August. But mark your calendars for Sept. 10 when they will host the next Pancake Breakfast. Everyone is welcome.
