On Feb. 14, we had our second weigh day. The calves are all looking fantastic and you can tell that they’re getting some good grain. After we finished weighing up all the calves, we went in and had a small meeting, where we discussed our public speaking night. Then Tiffany Richmond gave us a judging workshop, looking at both the cuts of a beef and also all of the key terminology. I would like to thank the Richmonds for the use of their facilities.
Our public speaking night was fabulous with a lot of very strong speakers From junior level we had Erica Nelson in first place and Russell Steen got second place. In the intermediate level, Mickey Johnson received first place and Jordan Ferguson got second. In the senior level, Justine Johnson got first and Tiffany Richmond received second. Everyone did awesome and the first and seconds will be moving onto Districts in Delia on March 13.
On March 1, we had our monthly meeting and discussed the bottle and battery drive which will be taking place on April 25, so if you have any bottles or batteries laying around and would like them out of your way, give a member a call.
As well, our Mock Achievement Day will be taking place on April 23.
