Our club held its information day on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at the Endmoor Arena.
There were activity stations set up and the club members alternated going from station to station. Activities included seed identification, learning the body parts of a steer, identifying carcass cuts of meat, keeping record books and judging.
We judged four different types of chocolate bars and they all looked good to me!
Our club held its Public Speaking Day on Monday, Feb. 28. Thanks to our judges, Rhonda Hutton, Brett Rogers, Robin Cosgrave, Judy Buchwitz, Sue Rausch and Sharon Land.
Winners were: For juniors: 1st place, Jesse Jack; 2nd place, Kallie Stewart; 3rd place, Abby Musgrove. Intermediate winners were: 1st place, Allison Yates; 2nd place, Erika Yates; 3rd place, Shayla Schilling. The winners for seniors were: 1st place, Grace Sorensen; 2nd place, Kourtney Schilling; 3rd place Tyler Stewart.
The winner for intermediate presentations was Denver McComish. First and second place winners move on to compete at the district level. District public speaking will be hosted by the Byemoor 4-H Club and will take place at the Byemoor School at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 12. District presentation day will be held on Wednesday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Erskine School.
