There was a full weekend of hockey at the SRC

The Stettler Recreation Centre (SRC) was bustling with activity for the final weekend of November.

Stettler Minor Hockey played host to an under-18 female hockey tournament which featured teams from Lloydminster, Edmonton, and the Battle River region.

The Stettler Storm U15 hockey team had a good showing in the tournament, winning three of their four games before finally meeting their match in the gold-medal game against Battle River.

Battle River won the game with a 5 to 4 score, taking home gold. Stettler earned earned silver, and Lloydminster took home the bronze versus Edmonton.

The U18 Stettler Storm won their first game against Lloydminster as well, then continuing to succeed in the rest of the tournament to make it into the final.

Unfortunately, the U18 team ran out of gas in the final, losing the game in sudden-death overtime.

As the organizer of the U18 tournament was away, further details are currently unavailable as of press time.
