On Saturday evening, March 4, Christ King Catholic School (CKCS) boys’ team participated in the CARA final at the Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus gymnasium, conceding to Gus Wetter.

Playing against Wm. E. Hay’s A team, the CKCS boys beat them, also winning against Castor’s Theresetta, before losing to Gus Wetter in the final game.

“Gus Wetter had a very strong team with a lot of depth,” said Coach Megan Lozeau. “They have a few key players that are hard to shut down and caused our boys a lot of trouble. The Christ King boys didn’t give up, played hard and left everything out on the court.”

According to Lozeau, the boys have worked hard on developing their offensive system and strengthening the defence.

“They are all working hard to better themselves as players and focusing on their role within the team,” Lozeau added.

Christ King will participate in the CWAJHAA tournament at Gus Wetter School in Castor this weekend, March 10 and 11, against several schools who qualified from the surrounding area.
