Atom Elks undefeated leaders in tier II, bantams host tournament

As the bantam minor hockey teams prepare to host a tournament this weekend, they have been taking stock of the results they received so far in their regular season games.

The Scotiabank Bantam AA Storm have played their first three regular season games and have a record of one win and two losses. The team lost their league opener in Lacombe with a score of 5 - 2. Jacob Hamel led the scoring with two goals, assists going to Quentin Greenwood and Chase Cooke. They won in their home opener against Ponoka 7 - 5 as Quentin Greenwood tallied five goals and Jacob Hamel added a pair. The team travelled to Sylvan Lake on Halloween night and lost by a 3-1 score. The lone goal was scored by Quentin Greenwood

As for the Bantam B Storm, they played against Olds and lost 8-1 on Friday with the only goal for the local side coming from Brycen Bainbridge.

Stettler Elks Atom AA team played against Blackfalds Bulldogs on saturday, Oct. 30 on home ice, winning with a final score of 12 – 2 with the goals scored by James Switenky; Erik Rost (2); Carter Van Esch (3); Sam Hamelin; Alex De Young (2); Daylan Kuefler; Brady Turner and Rhett Shingoose. The next day, they won 3-2 on the road beating Lacombe Rockets 3-2 with the goals coming from Adam Shirley, Alex De Young and Sam Hamelin.

As of Sunday Oct. 31, the undefeated Stettler Elks Atom AA are in the first place in the Tier II division. Their next game is an away game against Olds on Saturday, Nov 6 at 2 p.m.
