Dear editor,
The past few days I have watched our busy town employees drain the fire hydrants on each street in preparation for the freezing winter days ahead. What a waste of water, a valuable commodity around the world.
Is there somewhere this water could be used? Does the swimming pool need topping up? Is it too early to lay a base for the outdoor skating rink? Have the trees in our many parks been watered?
Someone must have a really good idea. Perhaps they can share their opinion.
