HEGBERG
Valerie Hugheen Hegberg passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Stettler Health Care Centre at the age of 89 years. Valerie was born on April 8, 1928 in Lacombe, Alberta to Hugh and Rose Rowland. She leaves to mourn her loss her four children Linda (Rolly), Barb, Bill (Debbie) and Bob (Jonni). Valerie was the proud grandma of nine grandchildren: Shelly (Colin), John, Alyssa (Trevor), Steve (Ginette), Chris, TJ (Tanya), Rob (Laura), Jason (Sara) and Jenn (Jim). She was also very proud of her 24 great grandchildren: Ashley (Mike), Dylan, Brett, Morley, Katrina, Brady, Darcy, Ashlynn, Lindsey, Bryant, Tanner, Jordan, Taylor, Maison, Beckett, Devonee, Naomi, Nyla, Neve, Natalie, Griffin and Cooper. She was delighted with her three great great grandchildren: Seth, Wesley and Luca. Valerie has one surviving sister Barb, two brothers Roy (Colleen) and Art and one sister-in-law Joyce (Jerry) as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and many, many friends. Valerie's life was dedicated to her husband, her children and grandchildren. She was well known as a wonderful cook and baker. She loved to sew and craft and most of us were fortunate enough to have one of her creations in our homes. She enjoyed golfing with Harold, family or with friends at Ladies Night at the Stettler Golf Course. Valerie worked at G&H Foods for many years and loved both the job and all the wonderful friendships that she made there. After her retirement from G&H Foods - she filled her life spending time with her beloved Harold and her family. Valerie had a beautiful smile that lit up the room, the blessed heart of an angel, a great sense of humour with an infectious laugh and a giving, generous soul that saw only the best in everyone. She will be dearly missed and will forever live on in the hearts of all those she touched. Valerie is predeceased by her beloved husband Harold Hegberg, her parents Hugh and Rose Rowland and her brothers Jack and Jerry Rowland.
A Celebration of Valerie's Life will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Stettler Funeral Home, Stettler, Alberta. Please join the family following the service for a time of fellowship and refreshments.
