WISE, Thomas Allan
On April 14, 2017, Tom Wise of Whitecourt, AB passed away at the age of 88. Tom will be lovingly remembered by daughter Pam, son Terry (Terri); grandchildren Tara, Beverly, Rachel and Zach; great-grandchildren Drayden, Kade, Brielle and Kylie; brothers Bill (Marg), Euqene (Anne), Herb (Lenora) and Clinton (Ellen). He was predeceased by parents William and Lydia, wife Edith and son-in-law Brad
Stack. Tom will be fondly remembered as a community-minded person who was involved with the local Lions club, Oilmen's association and Whitecourt Seniors' Circle. He was a salesman through and through and always enjoyed a good discussion over a cup of coffee. Tom was raised in Luseland, SK and was the eldest of five boys. He married Edith in 1955 and they settled in Stettler until their move to Whitecourt in 1988. Tom retired in 1993 and took up residence at the Spruce View Lodge in late 2015, where he was eventually transferred to the Extendicare facility in Mayerthorpe. On April 2nd Tom unfortunately broke his hip and was unable to overcome the complications of such an ordeal.
A Celebration of Tom's life was held on Friday, April 21st in Whitecourt, with inurnment at a later date.
