LOGAN – Stella Jean was born Aug. 11, 1921 in Stettler, AB, the daughter of David Brown McDavid and Stella Margaret Annable. During WWII Jean was a member of the Canadian Women Army Corps-Air Wing stationed in Ottawa. When she returned to civilian life after the war, she was employed in Calgary, AB and Trochu, AB. Jean married Harold George Logan on Jan. 25, 1951 in Stettler. They settled on their farm north of Erskine, AB. Jean and Harold resided on their farm until Harold passed away in 2003. Jean continued living on the farm until recently. Her life was devoted to Harold, her home and garden. A great hostess, the door was always open to family and friends and aside from food and drink, Jean loved to recite a poem or two to feed an inquisitive mind. Predeceased by her parents; husband Harold Logan; infant son Wesley George Logan; and brothers, David McDavid and Donald McDavid; Jean is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grandnephews, other family members and many good friends. Stella Jean Logan passed away in the Stettler Health Care Centre on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the age of 86 years. Funeral service was held in the Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home, on April 22, 2008. Interment followed in the Erskine Cemetery.
