HANSEL – Ronald Russell of Stettler, AB passed away at the Stettler Hospital on Nov. 8, 2008 at the age of 64 years. Ron was known as a generous, very kind, gentle and loving man. Ron loved calling Stettler home, and was very active in many community service organizations such as the Lion’s Club, the Heartland Beautification Committee, the Stettler Recycling Committee and the Stettler Memorial Tree Park. He truly enjoyed meeting and socializing with people of all ages and interests – Ron’s 13 years of owning and running the Tastebud Cafe with his wife Sharon gave him so many great memories. Ron’s legacy lives on and he is survived by his wife and partner Sharon, his daughter Leah and her partner Adam, their children Summer and Nicholas, son Cameron and his wife Leisha, their children Jordyn, Kyla, Quinton and Ethan, daughter A.J. and her husband Craig, their children Kolby and Kingsley; his special nephew Darren, sister Viola and her husband Mike, brother Harold and his wife Debbie, special Aunt June and her husband Wilbert, brother-in-law Dan, sister-in-law Sharon and her partner Elmer as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful friends. Also left behind to carry on and help look after Mommy are special little friends Johann and Kia. A funeral service for Ron was held at the Stettler United Church on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 officiated by Rev. David Denholm. Cremation was entrusted to Brennen Funeral Home and Ron will be laid to rest at a later date in the Omega Cemetary, Gadsby, AB facing the direction of his childhood farm home.
