Richard W. Nicholson
We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Richard W. Nicholson June 4, 1946-April 16, 2017 Rick was a wonderful loving husband, father, grand-father, great grandfather and friend to many. He will be fondly remembered for his strong commitment and love for his family, his sense of humour and his love of curling. May he have an eternity of throwing the perfect draw weight.
Rick is survived by his loving family: wife Joy of Forestburg; son Richard (Natasha) of Fort McMurray and children Reid and Isla Nicholson; daughters: Dianne Just (Brady Cockwill) of Bentley and children Megan Edgeworth, Larissa Just and Dylan Just; Shelley Nicholson (Troy Maki) of Red Deer and children Haley Maki, her son Hunter Maki and Breanna Maki; and Shannon Johnson (Bruce Allen) of Calgary and children Ty Johnson and Kyra Johnson; brother William (Judy) Nicholson of Delta, BC and sister Kathy Palmer of High River; brother in law Dick (Ann) Van Groen and sister in law Dianne Bresett (Dan MacFadyen); as well as other family and many dear friends. Rick was predeceased by his parents George and Ann; parents in law Millie and Rijk Van Groen; his brothers Robert (Francis), George (Donna) and Ron (Effie); sister in law Marie (Larry) Schwabe and brother in law Gary Palmer.
At Rick's request no formal funeral will be held, however if you wish memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the War Amps Society in Rick's name.
